A pair of tapadero lamps were our entry in the Western Design Conference held in Cody in 1999. These lamps are original designs of Keith Seidel. They are fully functional tapaderos, with leather covered stirrups inside. They are mounted to the lamp pole using a leather covered steel lined roller cover. Each tapadero is fully carved on the outside with partial carving on the back side and the base is lead weighted so that the lamp is very stable. The rawhide lamp shades are all one piece of rawhide and we round braided the edges in dark brown kangaroo lace, to match the edge braiding on the tapadero and base. These lamps are quite tall, with the tapadero by itself measuring 21″ tall. A unique and stunning western design!
